Can someone please give me some advice, I have recently used an epilator on my legs, I tried it on a small patch above my ankle and then used it again the next day over my entire legs because that patch looked fine.. . But the next day I had small boils that seemed to have yellow puss in them, and today the boils all seem to be just like red cuts or just marks and they are very sore! I'm afraid that it won't go away, they are all over my shins and they are bright red and look absolutely awful and I am even scared to tell my mum what has happened because I just think she'll be shocked and say that I have brought it on myself and everything before she takes me to the doctors.. . I have tried looking all over the internet for answers and most sites have just very vaguely said that the boils and marks will go in the next couple of months.. . Does it really take that long because they are so sore and I am using a body wash that has calamine and chamomile in it to sooth troubled skin and it seems to help a little bit but obviously they are still very sore. I also would like to know if I should be using something like savlon healing cream on my legs.
It really is awful though and I have to wear trousers instead of shorts in bed because I don't want my mum to see them if she comes into my bedroom. :confused:

When you epilate and remove hair, there is an airspace left in the place of the hair removed. This airspace is normally moist. Natural skin bacteria go into these moist and warm hair spaces and create the yellowish/whittish pustules. When you epilate, make sure your skin is dry and free from creams and moisturizers. After Epilating, apply a small amount of Hydrogen Peroxide and this should kill the bacteria. If the Hydrogen peroxide is too strong for your skin, dilute it with cream or lotion.
