    The Weaver Commission? (Devil's Advocate Film)
    Hello everyone!

    I was just wondering if someone could explain a line from a scene for me?

    In The Devil's Advocate there is a scene where Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) walks in on Eddie Barzoon (Jeffrey Jones) and a load of other employees shredding boxes full of paperwork, 'Housekeeping' as he puts it!

    The following exchange ensues;

    EB: "If anyone should ask ... you never saw this."

    KL: "Who would ask?"

    EB: "Weaver."

    KL: "Who's that?"

    EB: "Justice Department. Weaver Commission. You don't know about him?"

    KL: "Sorry."

    EB: "How nice for you!"

    Later on he runs into a guy called Mitch Weaver from the Justice Department.

    What is all this about? I don't know if it's because I'm British or just because I'm dumb, but I don't get it! Ha ha! :D

    Thanks for all your help in advance!

    I believe it's because the firm was dealing with more than just the law. They were dealing with firearms and other things. They had to destroy the evidence. Not sure if this is correct. But might help.:)
