cracked rib and pregnant and in terrible pain
I am 32 weeks pregnant, and last night I cracked a rib. I have not been to the doctor because they told me that they couldn't do any x-ray anyway because of radiation. They also said that all I could take was tylenol. However, I am in constant pain. I can't move my arm without letting out a loud moan due to the pain. I can't go on much longer with this pain, and I don't know what to do. I have a prescription from the past for flexeril and hydrocodone but I want to make sure that it will be OK to take this far along during my pregnancy. I sure don't want to hurt my precious child inside me, but I am in terrible pain. Please help

For cracked ribs there isn't much they can do except let it heal on its own. You would have to call your doctor and ask maybe they can prescribe something better. In the meantime just try to take it easy.

When you contemplate taking drugs for your pain, you need to talk to your doctor about that. The risks to your unborn child's health should not take a backseat on this matter. Talk to your doctor. There may be something a bit more helpful than Tylenol. But it would not be hydrocodone.

I was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine while I was pregnant. You may want to ask your doctor about that. :)
