    Tetracycline for swollen throat
Hi, I have a swollen throat, right side only. It is much bigger than the left side, it has been very sensitive and painful for 4 days. Every time I sneeze it feels like a million needles are being shot into my throat. I am also dizzy, and feel very ill in general. I have some mucus in my nasal passage and throat, but not a lot. A little post nasal drip. I have some 500 mg tetracycline (19) pills, I just want to know if that will help if it is an infection.

You mean you have some old or someone else's tetracycline? No one here is going to suggest that you take it. First of all you don't even know if you have a bacterial infection, nor what kind that might be targeted by tetracycline. You might be avoiding something serious. Plus, taking partial regimes of any antibiotic is bad for your future resistance to all of them.
That being said, I gave some once (after my dad died) to a friend in town with a sudden bad case of Lyme, who had to go a long distance to a VA, but made him go within 3 days as soon as he could crawl, and having had Lyme myself, I knew what would be prescribed.
So you decide, but don't expect anyone here to advise it.
Have you checked your molars/wisdom teeth/gums? Do you have your tonsils and adenoids?

Of course you have tried decongestants (with tons of fluids), right? Sinus virus clogs can turn bacterial but not right away. You need to treat it as a virus first, if it is just bad congestion.
