    Self introduction letter
I would like to request 'Ask Me' members what a self-introduction letter is. What is the difference with a letter of motivation or cover letter ?
I would welcome any example, sample or link.

    Thanks

    C

Regards my previous question about self introduction letter or introduction letter.
My question is related to an application process to an INGO. This process requests an application form where should be mentioned hobbies, social activities, professional activities as well as extra professional activities. Usually, in the cover letters I send I use to speak about my interests and engagements together with my qualifications and professional experiences and skills. That why I'm confused.

Thank Clough for your first answer. I would welcome more information.

    In peace

    Hi, christophed!

To whom is the letter being written and for what purpose, please? It would be helpful to know some additional particulars in order to advise you the best.

A self-introduction letter is of course one where you introduce yourself. It's basically the same as a letter of introduction or introduction letter. However, it might be done in different ways depending to whom it's being written and the purpose of it.

For instance, let's say that you were a teacher at the college or university level and an exert in certain fields of study and wanted to write a letter of self-introduction to your colleagues at the college or university. That sort of letter might be worded very differently from a letter that might be for if were say a professional athlete introducing yourself to the owners of a team for which you've been hired or for which you want to work.

The credentials are really contrasting and different because of the types of disciplines and fields of study.

A cover letter is different from a letter of introduction or self-introduction, in that you're trying to sell yourself to some sort of type of organization in an effort for you to gain employment with them. A letter of motivation is very much like a cover letter. What terms are used for the types of letters can depend on where someone is located.

    Thanks!
