Transition pieces, Carpet to laminate with a concrete floor
Hello All, I recently installed laminate flooring in one portion of my home and there is carpet directly next to it. I used a metal transition piece but I am having trouble finding the correct screws to use to hold the transition piece down. I am drilling into a concrete slab so of course they have to be strong. I tried concrete screws but they stick up and hurt your feet if you come closeto them, I've also tried round head screws with anchors but they give the same effect, they stick up too far. Please help.

I have been in the flooring business for 9 yrs and I always use a laminate molding next the carpet, its call a T molding, one half sits and the laminate (leave room for expansion about 1/4 inch) and the other side goes on top of carpet. I always glue mine down with liquid nail and weight it down with heavy boxes or whatever you have make sure you do not damage the molding, they also make a end cap molding if the T molding does not work.

We are installing laminate that is 12 mm. on a flat surface but when we put the transition pieces down it does not lay flat. Are there different thicknesses of transition pieces for the different thicknesses of laminate planks ?
