I'm moving from ga. To new orleans la. And I was told by ga. To file a interstate claim for new orleans how do I do it I really need help

Go to your local unemployment office (where you now live) and file against your GA work record. They handle the rest.

I've done this in the past filing in the state I moved to against the work history I had in a different state and that's how it was done.

Yes, you merely file for unemployment where you move to in LA, they will look it up in the computer system and file the claim there. You are paid according to GA rules and GA payments

Yes and make sure you file it FOR Georgia and not for Louisiana. Georgia doesn't like to pay unemployment but loves to collect it.

I live in NJ and my daughter filed an unemployment claim here after moving from Georgia. They cancelled her pin online and she has been waiting 5 weeks for an answer from them. She wants written confirmation of her denial. They denied her, that's fine; but she deserves a written reason. Something that I believe she shouldn't have to ask for.

vgalindo58, I'm not surprised they canceled if because you can't file for it in Georgia if you don't live in Georgia... you file for for it in the state you reside... THEY collect it from the state with the work history you are filing against and pay it out at the rate for the state you reside... or the one where you worked... whichever is higher.

I've done this before... and I actually collected the checks because that's how its done.
