    Recording Studio Advice
I want to record a song in a professional recording studio. The song is mostly written, however I will be recording all by myself as I don't have any other musicians. What can I expect when I walk into the studio?

    To meet with office staff.

If you are going to use house musicians, they will normally want a copy of the music ahead to be ready. If it needs to be written in parts, they may have a fee for that. The music can be recorded by them together or even separate and merged by the studio on tracks.

They will go over charges for the studio time, the in house musicians and other costs. They will go over the details for mastering the tape and costs for a final CD of this.

Example: I can't play the drums. Can I use a drum machine? I can take all the time I want programming that, and the drum track will be recorded in one take. Will the engineer allow that?
