I have a Goodman gas furnace, Modal no. GMP075-3. When the heat is turned on the blower motor turns on but the ignitor doesn't get hot or glow like it's getting hot. I don't think that the gas valve is opening as I have tried to light it with a open flame. Please help me, it snowed last night and it doesn't normally snow around here.

The blower you refer to-I assume you mean the induced-draft blower connected to the flue vent. Correct? Next, the pressure switch should engage (canister, two yellow wires, hose connected to induced draft blower housing). After about 30 seconds, first ignition trial begins (ignitor warm-up, 34 seconds... gas control powered and ignition proven, 5-7 seconds... pre-heat, 20-35 seconds, circulating blower starts and runs). At what point do we stop making progress? If the draft inducer runs but nothing else happens, try this: turn off power to unit, pull pressure switch hose off inducer port fitting, straighten a paper clip and poke it through the fitting to make sure it hasn't clogged up. Reconnect hose, turn power on and try heat again.

Yes it is the induced blower I hear turning on but I don't hear anything else and the ignitor never lit and I was out there watching and listening for about four minutes.

KC13, thank you so very much. The hose wasn't clogged, it is dry rotted and broke from the induced blower housing and I didn't know what the hose was connected to, to plug it back in. Thanks to your suggestion I now know and I have heat. Once again Thank You So Very Much.

And congrats to you for earning your first Goodman merit badge. You'll know when it's time for the next test-your thermostat will tell you!

If the hose was dry-rotted that badly you may want to check over other hoses and wires to see what else might need replacing. If you find something suspect post a new topic and we can help determine best course of action.

Hi,

This morning I just turned on my Goodman GMT090-4 for the first time for this season and have the same problem: The draft inducer blower starts and runs for about 2-3 minutes, but then nothing else happens (no ignition glow; no gas flow; etc.) and then the unit shuts off and I get a repeating 3-flash LED. I examined the pressure switch hose as was suggested and there were no blockages either in the fittings of either end or in the hose itself, which is in good order. Do you have any other suggestions for what might be happening? I do not have a user manual as the furnace came with the house & I was not provided one by the previous owner, so I am hoping someone on this forum will be able to help me.

I had the same problem of furnace running on and off frequently. I opened the covers of the furnace and replugged the wires after unplugging them... esp the white wire of igniter traced back to it's origin. It was plugged with many wires into a white box. I just took that whire box out and put it back in... I was without heat for almost a month... but its fixed now... I wish if I can upload picture of the box whixh I took out and put back in... may be some loose connection... Njoy and Stay warm.
