    Blower motor wiring
I recently replaced the squirrel cage on my Goodman Manuf. AR60-1 Air Handler. When I removed the blower, the wires attached to the motor detached from the furnace controls and I did not see where they were attached. There are 4 wires coming from the motor. One is the ground. One is red and it was not being used. One is black and one is purple. The purple wire is piggy backed with a black wire. I followed this black wire and it goes to the breaker (power). I am trying to figure out where the black and black/purple(piggy backed) wires coming off the motor go.

    Thanks

There is a wiring diagram on the inside unit blower door on ALL models.

There is also a wiring diagram on the side of every motor sold..

You can figure the wires from there because some motors use different color wires for different things.

I hope you also bought a new capacitor for the new motor you are installing. If not buy one. Do not use the old capacitor under any circumstances.

I only replaced the squirrel cage. I found the wiring diagram on the furnace and online but it does not show the blower motor.

    Thanks

The wiring diagram on the furnace should be a full diagram/

    You replaced the cage?

Usually you replace the motor or the fan in the cage assembly.

Follow the wiring diagram on the motor?
