My daughter dyes her hair and it ended up green from our clorine pool. Possibility? You might need to go lighter to bleach the green out.

No bleach is need... You need a toner, go to your public beauty supply, they can direct you to the degree of tone you need to get a workable color... Rule #1 NEVER PUT ASH ON BLONDE :) If you're a blonde anytime you consider a color stay away from anything that has A after the number... ASH = GREEN

I went red a month ago and got tired of it so I bleached my hair. I ran out of bleach and I couldn't cover my whole head. It turned orange in it in some spots. I got more bleached and tried to touch it up the same day. Then I covered it with ash blonde. So it made my hair so much better but there are still some reddish blondes spots. I used a violet shampoo to get it more blonde with out bleaching it again. It only made the really blonde parts more blonde but did nothing to the rest. I don't want to bleach my hair again. Im considering going back to my natural color brown. Can't anyone tell if the blonde in my hair will definitely turn green? Can I just go brown with out a filler like red?

I had blond highlighted hair and dyed it a light Borwn Perm. Colour. To my horror my hair burn very dark brown almost black and the highlights turned green. My hair was matted and patchy. The brown coliur was not nice at all. I went to many hairdressers and they refused to touch my hair until I washed it with Head & Shoulders or a clarifying shampoo. They said I also need to work on the condition of my hair and to put a treatment in it after every wash. Because I put a permanent colour in my hair it made things worse. The colour faded only very slightly. I went back to the hairdressers a month later and they but a reddish borwn colour in my hair with a few subtle thin highlights scattered around my head. The colour is too red. More red than brown and still not the colour I was hoping. The green is gone and my coliur is shiny. Never dye your blonde hair with a brown perm dye. It will go green!! Get it done professionally! I have to live with this unwanted colour until my hair grows out - roll on two years!
Also they would not strip my hair as it was too fine and would fall out.

I sort of did the same. I had been dying my hair brown for 1 1/2 year and was getting bored. So, I bleached it and out came a multitude of colors. I bleached it again to fix it and then once more after that. I could never get the ends the same color as the top. Anyway, after that, to get the orange out of the bottom I added ash blonde. It looked wayyy better, but my roots started coming and I just decided that I could afford to keep up with being blonde. So I dyed my hair rich golden brown the other night. Welp, I forgot that ash + brown don't mix and now it's a matte color brown with a green hue all around. How can I get rid of this green hue? Please help me! After I dyed my hair brown I read that you should dye your hair red first if going to from blonde to brunette. Should I add red to this color and then add brown again to get rid of the green? Just someone tell me what to do!

If you went from bleach blonde to brown, and it turned green, dye it red then try the brown again afterwards, I had this happen before and the red made it brown, but it wasn't quite the sade I wanted, so I died it the brown I wanted and it turned out perfect.

I recently decided to go brown from blonde. My usual hairdresser dyed my hair red followed by a brown, it resulted in a much darker shade of brown than I actually wanted, and had no multi tone to it. I found this faded very quickly with every time I washed my hair (normally every two to three days) and after about two and a half weeks the top layer of my hair shows the blonde through, which under certain lights can look green. No matter how many times we have tried dying it red and then brown since, this problem still persists even after the correct procedure has ben followed. The color just will not stick. My hair has never been in very bad condition so I think its all down to the individual, everyone's hair type is different, I think if you are determined to stay brown you have to keep having it done until the color sticks. I know its money and time but I am convinced you have to build a good base before you try to go different shades. It may be that you hair has lost moisture from dying process which is why the color isn't sticking, I know mine has so maybe try deep conditioning to build the hair up again. I think Vo5 sell reasonable priced oils hot and cold for your hair, try leaving that in for 12 hours every few weeks, an alternative and free options is cooking oil. They do make your hair smell like a chip pan but you can feel the results straight away, you hair feels full of moisture. Good luck everyone.

One thing everyone does wrong, is assume that bleaching it is the only way to get it blonde, which actually leaves it looking really yellow with an orange or even green tint, I've been dying my hair blonde for 3 years, I used to be bleach but I found a better option which even leaves my hair in better condition. First off all use a stripper, it won't remove all the colour because its bleach but it will take all the crap out of your hair, secondly dye your hair blonde with a cream, an actual blonde dye. Not a bleaach, makes the hair look so much healthier and a really nice blonde. X

I dyed my hair from Black to Platinum Blonde with promising results, I've dyed my hair so many times, I thought it'd go orange, but no. It worked,
THEN I WASHED IT AND MY HAIR NOW HAS GREEN STREAKS IN IT.
    What can I do?:ll

Baking soda and shampoo paste. Mix then apply to wet or dry hair. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse with cool water. I put on a conditioner(only because my hair felt dry). IT WORKED!. And NO MORE GREEN HAIR! WHEW!

I just figured out that the water in our new house, while being pretty soft (level is 59, anything under 75 is considered soft), it is slightly acidic. Ph was at 6.6, anything under 6.8 is considered acidic. This leaches out the interior of the copper pipes, essentially eating them. Ever notice a blue green ring around the drains in your house? That is the copper from the pipe interiors. Chances are you have acidic water. I just had a hard water treatment done on my hair and I swear to you, the water that came off my hair was the same color as blue gatorade! I had them do it twice, and I think I still need a couple more treatments done. It worked wonders, my hair had been turning green, (I have blond highlights) and it's pretty much back to it's normal color. So go find yourself a salon that does this type of treatment... it was $20 or $25 at the salon I went to, it shouldn't be much more than that where ever you go. It's SOOOO worth it! I am going to look into getting a mineral neutralizing system put in place at our house so I don't have to go once a month and have this treatment done.
