    10-2 versus 220 wire
I'm going to wire a hot tub, I would like to know if 10-2 wire is the same thing as 220 wire. If not what is the difference so I will know weather I can use the 10-2.

    Thank you

No, 10-2 wire is not the same as 220 wire. There is no such thing as 220 wire. 220 or 240 would be the voltage needed to power the hot tub. Where did you come up with 10-2 wire? Most hot tubs require a 50 amp 240volt supply with a 50 amp 2 pole gfi breaker which requires number 6 wire.
