I know it sounds stupid but have you tried unplugging and plugging back in.

Before you go into a full blown panic, make sure the receptacle your set is plugged into is working properly.

Find a radio or lamp and plug it in. If the radio or light work, panic and see if the warranty is actually still good.

Is there a manual power on/off button?

Same problem, checked fuse, changed it, tried replacement leads, (no power cut, just unplugged it, when plugged back in completely dead), had a local repair guy check the internal boards, no signs of damage either.

Has anyone managed to get this sorted? (my TV is just out of warranty by 6 weeks).

Have you verified that the receptacle that the TV is plugged into is working properly?

That's the first step to take. Either use a radio, lamp or volt meter. If the receptacle is working, then you need to have an authorized technician verify the input to the TV's power supply and the output of the TV's power supply.

It is possible that there was a surge during the plugging and unplugging that took out the TV's power supply transformer. Possible, but unlikely, however, you need to start somewhere.
