Yes, I have seen many males go into the Early Childhood Education field. Some are teachers, some are paras, some are social workers/case managers, and some are educators at the college level instructing students (so that they may go out and teach children). When I worked for Head Start and would go to workshops, I would see more males from the southern states than northern states.

I think it is great for a male to want to be in the Early Childhood Education field. If this is you and your prospective field of study, I truly wish you great blessings. There are plenty of children out there who would love you.

My son had a Kindergarten teacher who was a man. My son loved him! I am glad when men decide to go into the field of Early Childhood Education. It would be good to have more of them in the field.

Well, I am a elementary education major pre-k-4. I will student teach in the fall. I have never had more than 1 or 2 guys in most of my classes. The ratio to males to females is more favorable to females;however, I believe males make excellent teachers. Younger children love male figures for some reason.
