Federal probation ,violation for traffic ticket
I am currently on federal probation for 4 years.I received a traffic ticket for no licsencse does this mean I will go to jail.I am currently on chemo and don't have that much time but I wouldn't want to spend what I have in jail.

I am assuming this was for not having a valid license (suspension, revokation, etc.. ).

Did you get a VOP notice from the feds about it? If you did, all you can do is have your attorney plead your case to the probation officer and likely they will let it slide, if you are terminal and since it was a minor offense.

If there is any defense to the traffic violation, that would certainly take care of the problem. Have you been a good probationer, followed rules, had negative drug tests, etc..

You will need to report this to the PO, and it will be his choice how to handle it, were you given a ticket, or where you arrested.

The biggest violation would be not telling him and you are more likely to spend some time in jail for that.

You say Federal Probation, so I will assume it is the federal government, from federal court, so you have to had broken a much more serious crime for this.

My guess is no, you may have to go report to court and get a lecture from the judge, but I would call and let the PO know ASAP

Fr Chuck, I have to disagree.. the first thing he should do is speak with his attorney, then the rest about the PO I agree with (if he is required to report the traffic issue). Say nothing as it can be used against you, unless under the advice of your attorney.
