Although he wasn't as clear as he could be here, Emeril has made a point.

Whip out your local Yellow pages directory. Look under concrete. If you aren't doing this yourself, call around to a few of the companies and ask them to come in for estimates. If you do plan to do this yourself but want the concrete pre-mixed, get your measurement straight, and ask them how much it would cost to do a pour based upon the measurement. Make sure they quote you an "everything included" price. Usually they charge a base fee for the truck, concrete used, and the time it will take. If you plan on mixing your own, you need to get your measurements of the area, hop on down to the local Home Depot, Loews, or friendly locally owned hardware store, and find out what they have available and how much each bag will cost.

Here in Southern California, concrete is selling for anywhere between $110 - $135 per yard (that's a cubic yard). Your cost will vary... most applications call for a "five-sack" mix and you probably shouldn't use less (that's sacks of portland cement per yard of concrete). For standard 2X4 forms you can figure approximately 80 square feet per yard of concrete. Always order a little more than you think you'll need. If the location that you intend to pour concrete is not accessible by the chute on the truck you'll have to request a pumper when you order the "mud" The cost there could add $250-$300 to the cost of the concrete. You usually pay the pumper separately... when the mud is on the ground.
