Teaching a 14 Month old to talk / say words
I have a 14 month old little girl who is my first child.
She is a very happy little girl but the only thing that is bothering me at the minute is that she doesn't want to talk. So far she will babble but not very often, say 'mama' and 'dada' and point at things.
She will only say mama and dada occasionally and then the only other definite word is 'ta' as in 'thank you'.
I feel like I am failing her as other babies seem to be saying much more than her.
I read to her everyday and I constantly point to pictures and objects and say the one descriptive work... eg 'dog' etc.
Does this sound normal for a 14 month old and what else can I do to encourage her to talk.
It's also worth me saying that she doesn't ever try and repeat what I say. She just points.
