Your doctor might not be able to tell that you've had sex, but lying to your doctor (or your mother) is a bad idea. You're 14. So let's face it, you shouldn't be having sex. I know, you're so mature and responsible for your age, or your boyfriend would never leave you if you got pregnant, and blah blah blah. Everyone says the same thing. But at 14, you just simply should not be putting yourself in a position where you are risking pregnancy or stds. You're still a child, so enjoy what's left of your child hood.

And your mom probably already knows that you've had sex. Trust me, I was a minor and sexually active. And I denied it to my mom too. She still knew. It got to the point where there was no need for me to say it and no point in denying it. Mom's always seem to have a way of knowing. You might as well fess up.

I can't find the laws for your area (btw, giving your exact location the way you have is NOT a good idea), but generally doctors are not allowed to tell your parents things without your consent. And if you aren't sure, then ask your doctor.

This is all the more reason though why you should not be having sex. What are you going to do if you have an std? Or if you get pregnant? You think you're going to be able to hide that from your mom? You're not mature enough or responsible enough to be having sex.

Of course asking mom for birth control is basically telling her you are having sex, and if you think you are adult enough to have a baby, ( no birth control is 100 percent) then you need to be old enough to be honest about your feelings and what you are doing.

Well you can't notice through a smear if your not a virgin but your mum will no you have had sex because you want birth control and what ever you and your doctor talk about is private and confidential but if he/she thinks you are in danger they can tell your mum or police so good luck!:)

If you asked your mom for birth control she knows already knows you are thinking about having sex. Did she actually tell you she was throwing you out of the house or are you just afraid she will?

The doctor can only tell if your hymen, the skin covering the opening to the vagina, is broken or if there is semen coming back out of your vagina (due to gravity) from recent sex. An intact hymen indicates that you have not had sexual intercourse although you can get pregnant without breaking the hymen because the hymen does not fully cover the vagina's opening. The hymen can be broken in other ways, including masturbation and if your doctor does an examination with a speculum so you can have a pap smear than its gone. Your doctor may give you a shot to protect you from some forms of cancer caused by a viral infection of you private parts.

While theoretically your doctor must keep you health information confidential that may not apply to you because you are a minor. What ever you do please don't freak out and hurt yourself or run away to the streets. If your mom or dad does get violent than you will need a new family not the streets. See another adult you trust like a teacher or guidance councilor or a friend with understanding family.

Yes there is a thing called the hymen that is broken upon penetration and if it is absent it is noticeable. The type of damage to the hymen is noticeably different from penetration to just normal use of tampons

Nope. There is so many things that can cause damage to the hymen that don't involve any sort of penetration. For one she could be not born with one, or so small that it would be seen or felt. Through bike riding, horse back, gynmastics, or anyone of a number of sports she can damage her hymen.

Secondly a doctor can't make that kind of call. All they can say is that the hymen is damage or non-existent.

The point is that no hymen doesn't equal non-virgin.
