    Aggressive cat, attacks repeatedly
I have had my cat for about 3 years. He's a neutered male acquired as a kitten. He's never been abused (that I know of) and is very lovey most of the time. Often, though, he will lunge at me and bite me HARD drawing blood. Sometimes it's when I'm petting him, but sometimes it happens when I am sitting in the recliner and he just jumps up, bites me, and runs. If I can tell he's getting ready to bite (ears back, tail twitching), I will put him down (if holding him) and he will hunker down, lunge and bite, and after I push him away, he'll do it again. I have to pick him up, toss him in a room and close him in there for a while, and then he'll come out being his loving old self. Any thoughts? We have a toddler that we worry about now, but the cat was biting long before our son was born. I don't want to get rid of him because I'm very attached, but my arms have scars from him and we worry about our son. Thanks for your help.

I am not sure why, But I have a male neutered 11 years and he used to do the same things. If I were you I would keep a squirt bottle handy in each room and give him a good squirt. When he started misbehaving.I had 3 kids and I think sometimes he would just get overwhelmed by all the noise. Also he is very dominate and if he heard cats out side or saw one he would get aggressive. He is an indoor/outdoor cat. After we got other cats(females ) the behavior has calmed down or it could be that he has gotten older. Every one in a while he still sometimes does it.
