My 2005 dodge caravan electric door locks quit working. I think it may be a fuse or breaker.
Whear is the breaker box?

Your fuse box is located right next to the battery. I have the same problem, even though all fuses checked okay. Relays are also in this location, though I don't know how to check them. So... I'm also looking for an answer.:(

These locks are controlled through the body control module (BCM) and proper diagnosis may be extensive. Or it may be a simple common problem and the dealer may have an easy fix, such as a software update. You didn't say if the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) was lit...

I have no personal experience with this particular vehicle, but there are some things you can check. Start by insuring that all the doors and liftgate close and latch properly. If none of the locks function nor the keyless entry, your problem is likely a faulty BCM. The BCM is a complex module and controls numerous functions on your vehicle. You would do well to contact your local dealer and have them diag this concern. Ask upfront about diag fees and warrantees.

I had the same problem. Works manually but not electrically (with buttons or remote).
I fixed it by unhooking the battery and leaving it overnight. I heard this causes some sort of electronics reset. It worked, and my locks are fine.

For what MAY be only a temporary fix, open the hood, pull and reinsert the yellow 20amp fuse (IOD -- ignition-OFF draw) which powers the BCM. It is the fuse closest to your driver-side front turn-signal lamp. My locks have now worked for three days now. You'll have to reset radio presets AND clock. Also, I just found this on edmunds.com a while ago:

I had same prob. Pulled the IOD, as in #5 above. Locks now work. Had to reset clock but not radio buttons.

Pulling the IOD fuse is only a temporary fix. The TSB requires a software update to permanently fix the problem. Thanks Chrysler for making everybody pay twice for power door locks--the first time when we bought the van, then a second time to install software to make sure they actually work. Way to go!! Oh, by the way Chrysler, are you still wondering why nobody's buying your minivans?

I read this blog, went outside, pulled my IOD fuse, put back in and locks now work fine. I did not have to reset clock or Radio. Thanks for the information.

I just went out and pulled the negative battery cable of the battery. Waited 10 minutes... tried the key and presto... door locks working fine. It's like rebooting a computer. I am a 70 year old female and if I can do this, anyone can. Thanks for the info. PS... the fuse box is delightful.

That is a temporary solution. Whatever is causing it to trip will continue to do so. I had to "reset" the computer about once a week or so. Finally the dealer located the issue in the passenger side sliding door mechanism.
He repaired it while it was under warranty (about 3 years ago now), and I haven't had a problem since.

The fuse to the door locks are not located in that box.

The fuse for the door locks is not located in that box. Try disconneting you battery cables for a min.

I pulled the IOD fuse and put it back in 30 seconds and the locks work again.

The other key for the same car works. Replaced battery in key to no avail

I went out and pulled the yellow IOD fuse and it worked for me. Its been about 8 months and I just had to do it again. Thanks dodge for this problem not being a recall.

Thanks for the info... I had my power door locks go out on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan go out. I just pulled out the IOD fuse and put it back in. Locks are working again... Radio and Clock did NOT have to be reset... I will try to remember to keep you posted if they keep working after a couple days, a week, a month, etc...

Wow is the final word. The problem is the programing issue or the BCM module due to overheating. Cost of either is 400.00 to 800.00. If you call Dodge and make a complaint then maybe they will fix it before a small child get hurts or dies from this possible safety issue. Call 1-800-247-9753 hit 3 then 4 then 3 make a complaint and hope they recall soon. If you do not call them it will not get recalled to fix. By removing of the fuse ( IOD) only works because the BCM module is no longer overheated but problem returns when heat comes back during cycling door locks a few times or more. The issue will return but calling will speed up a recall. So call now to help all of us work to resolve this issue.
