Try replacing your spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filter. Cut the manufacturer's recommended mileage on platinum plugs in half; i.e. no more than 50,000 miles. Only use ACDelco spark plugs--#41942 for the 4 cylinder, #41940 for the 6 cylinder. The Chevy Malibu is a good, reliable car.
If you use synthetic lubricants, such as Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Engine Oil in your engine and Mobil 1 Multi-Vehicle Synthetic ATF in your transmission, you will be impressed with the trouble-free performance, ease of starting, improved mileage, and extended vehicle life.
My wife had the same problem first we had to put in a fuel pump because it wasn't getting enough gas after that it started then we had to replace the key swith that took care of the problem
