Chevy 06 cobalt key stuck in ignition
So last night, my key wouldn't come out of the ignition. The key rotates just past the ACC line, but not all the way to off. After about 30 minutes of turning the car on and off and jiggling the key around it came out.

This morning I drove to work, and can't get the key out. Thankfully the battery is not on. I went over to the local chevy dealer to find out what the problem is, but they said they never heard of this problem, and to fix it it could cost up to $600.00.

Part of me thinks it is that the key is worn down. I've used the same key now for 4 years and there is a lot of wear on it. So, I got another key, in case this key ever comes out of the ignition. At least I have a second key so I can lock the doors while the key is in the ignition.

I did some digging and found a bulletin put out by chevy #06-07-30-004C about this very same problem, so the dealership must have lied to me when they said they didn't know anything about a problem such as this. My car is no longer under the warranty.

    A. Any chance this might still be covered under warranty since there was a bulletin put out about it and many other chevy owners have experienced the problem?
    B. If not, how much do you think it will cost to fix?
    C. Any chance you think I could be right and it could be that the old key is worn down too much? I do have instructions on how to train the new key in case the old key comes out. I'm really praying that this is the solution because I don't have the money to fix the problem right now.
