I have been searching for the elusive main relay in my daughters 1988 honda civic. Please help me.
Just above under-dash fuse box. Turning ignition key on and off will help you locate the main relay, by allowing you to hear and feel it "click." Main relays often have 7 wires going to them.
Thank you for your reply. I have pulled out the fuse box ana searched up under there all I found was a box on the back of the fuse box with the label "intergated crtl unit". There is a small relay hanging down under the dash that clicks when I turn the key but it only has 4 wires. I suspect that the main relay is not working that is why I am looking for it.
The small relay hanging down under the dash that clicks, when you turn the key, is likely the main relay. Your relay only has 4 wires going to it, while many Hondas have 7. It may look like this:

It's definitely not the Integrated Control Unit.
Thank you txgreasemonkey, I sincerely thank you and others for your time and patience in helping who you can when you can. You make the world a better place.
