Bonding needed for a cleaning business?
I am hoping to start a cleaning business and was wondering if I needed to get bonded. If so, how do I go about doing that? I am planning on cleaning offices, churches, banks, etc... I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Are you sure that you need to be bonded? That is my first question. Around where I live, I have never known anyone who was a cleaning person who needed to be bonded. I suppose there might be a situation where the entity who is the employer might require someone to be bonded. But, so far, I have not encountered such a situation. I run several private businesses where I am in people's homes and different types of businesses on a regular basis. These involve the types of services where it might be necessary for me to be there when no one else is around. No one has ever asked me if I was bonded. Did someone tell you that you have to be bonded to clean? That is my second question.

If you do need to be bonded, then you will find bondsman in the Yellow Pages of a phone book. You could also speak with your insurance agent about it.

    Thanks!
