Is it normal for a 9 day old cartilage piercing to be very swollen?

I would go see a doctor to rule out infection. I don't have experience with cartliage piercings but being very swollen for more than a few days doesn't sound normal.

Swelling can be normal for up to two weeks. If it gets to the point where the ear is swelling around the earring, you need to see a doctor.
