Had my gas stove in storage and mice got into the insulation inside the unit, there is a funky smell coming from the stove and I'm thinking it's mice urine. Is there any way to get rid of this smell and will it get worse when we hook the stove up and cook with it:eek:

Put a box of baking soda in it. YOu can also spray lightly with odoban

Ugh, had this problem myself. Ended up having to completely disassemble it and replace all the insulation after cleaning the cavity. Sorry, there's not an easy fix to this.

Mice just about ruined our beautiful antique Chambers stove. After spending a few thousand dollars having our stove restored, we had to keep it in the garage for 2 months while our kitchen was being remodeled. When we were ready to install the range we noticed mouse droppings inside the stove. Halt moving it into the kitchen! We had to take it apart, completely clean it and while we were at it we changed all the insulation. It was a hard product to find, but a company in California has it. No smell except the fresh bread and other good food from the oven glad to say.
