Appraisal of Antique Singer Sewing Machine
I am looking for an estimate on the price of an Antique Singer Sewing Machine. It is a V.S.2 Model made in Kilbowie in 1890. It is in decent condition with the gold leafing well intact. It sits on a cabinet with three drawers on each side and I believe it has all of its original attachments. If you know a rough price for this or somewhere to look further I would appreciate it. (if this isn't the right topic area please let me know where to ask, thanks)

Is the first one it? Singer pictures from antiques photos on webshots

I have the other one and the antique dealers tell me it is only worth sentimental value.
A collector will pay better. I saw it on eBay up to $76.00 -so far-

I have never been able to find a site that says the actual values of antique sewing machines.

I restore and refinish old furniture and sewing machines. This is a nice piece. Unfortunately Singer manufactured hundreds of thousands of these and similar. They have more personal value than actual value. This particular unit could be worth as much as $400-$500 dollars to a collector or other Singer fan. Check the serial #, then check Singers web site for age and where it was made. Good luck.

    Hello,

I live in the DC Metropolitan area and wanted to know if you would know any appraisers in this area. I read the post of person who you responded to who has the same Singer machine as I have. Really don't know the serial # of the machine, but I did take a picture of the motor area... there's a label there. It reads:

    SINGER SEWING MOTOR
    CAT BZ 21-8
    S.S. AU52-16-31
    Elizabethport, NJ
    SIMANCO

Also, based on the information I gave you, would you know anything about this machine? My mother told me that her grandmother (my great-grandma) said this machine is from the 1920s... Do you know if this is true?
