Moth Balls
I bought 2 lbs of lavender buds and filled little sheer bags with them.
But put wool in a cedar chest or box or any other special container.
Cedar chest is a great idea, as are the moth balls. The moth balls are a bit cheaper than a cedar chest though. :)
Mothballs are the standard. Naphthalene (the ingredient in mothballs) is an effective fumigant, but it can permanently affect silks and satins, making them stiffer and more brittle over time. Besides that, mothballs stink. Cedar Oil is almost as effective as naphthalene, which is why cedar chests were so popular in times past. If you can find them, many people have had good results with unfinished red cedar blocks in drawers and closets.

I recommend washing every single item of clothing in the closets and drawers that are infested and a thorough vacuuming and cleaning of the closets and drawers. Warm to hot water is best. Dry cleaning will kill moths infesting clothes that you don't want to wash in hot water. Clothes moth don't do well on clean cotton or synthetics - they require the organic materials you leave behind - sweat, skin, and food particles. Clothes moths are able to eat wool and feathers.
