I am trying to make a flowery and somehow poetic introduction, does this fit?
I want to make a very short opening statement in a poetic or indirect way. Its about a paper work about political philosophy. Thanks;)

    How about --

No government that claims to embrace any faith can allow elected officials to favor and promote a particular one. Their biases, therefore, would inevitably cause their faith to be hostile to any belief that is not theirs.
