    Using A Condom Twice?
I have a burning question! What will happen if a condom is used twice? Can it lead to pregnancy? Although that is not my worry, (at this point) it will not hurt me to know.

A couple of nights ago my husband and I were intimate; :p we made the choice in the beginning of our marriage to continue to use protection until we were ready to have kids. In any event, we exploded together BUT he did not take the condom off. He continued to lay on top of me as I thought he was only taking a rest of my chest. He then proceeded to kiss on my neck; I asked him what he was doing. He then said to me: "Are you ready to go to sleep" of course I wasn't! I was just wondering what he was doing while he still had the condom on. He ended up convincing me to go for another round; the problem is that I wasn't ready. My body was not ready, I thought he would turn me on during but it never happened. In my mind I was thrown off as to why he did not take the used rubber off. I continued to have sex in pain, because I was dry. Needless to say I did not climax, but that was the least of my worries. It seems that we both were trying to please each other to the point that neither of us had the SENSE TO STOP! I was in pain, I was sore. That night he held me until the morning. In the morning I felt irritated,I can't really put the feeling into words. Now I am having "yeast infection" symptoms. I have consulted my doctor, of which I will be seeing next Thursday. My general question is: "IS THIS THE REASON WHY A CONDOM SHOULD NOT BE USED TWICE?" Please refer me to an article on this, if possible. I need to know something until I see my doctor! On top of that my husband feels horrible. My husband and I are not scared to death of being pregnant, my worry is if I contracted a yeast infection from our irresponsibility. :( Can someone please answer my question?

Do a search for "can you reuse a condom" and you see link after link that states you should not.

As for pregnancy, well, absolutely no form of OTC birth control is 100% effective, let alone that which is used inappropriately.

Generally a condom should not be used more than once because of the increased chance of failing(breaking). If the condom didn't break and held everything in the second time you shouldn't have a problem. You should however use a fresh condom every time. The pain is probably from being dry while having sex a second time. I would say though as long as the condom didn't break your fine. I would look for an article for you but I'm at work and shouldn't be looking for articles about condoms and such while I'm here.

As for whether you might be pregnant, well... even though with proper tracking it isn't perfect, but should you have been ovulating when this happened?

If you aren't keeping track of when you are most fertile you still are running a greater risk of pregnancy. See my avatar? That's my son, conceived while using birth control with about an 8% failure rate... just a little higher than common pill use.

You are most likely experiencing a for of cystitis that is caused by decreased lubrication to the vaginal canal during sex. You will most likely need an antibiotic for that.

I know pregnant wasn't your primary concern, but you DID ask about pregnant and talked about your desire not to have kids at the start of the marriage and said it wouldn't hurt to know... right? You brought the topic up... I responded... must note that if I leaned toward wagging my finger at you and saying "naughty naughty", its probably from time here on the boards... people write in everyday fretting that their bad, dumb choices might lead to an unwanted pregnancy. It kind of skews your thinking after a time... anyway...

If you haven't had this kind of problem before (burning sensation), yes, it can happen with forced, rough, or/and poorly lubricated sex. My partner has experienced this before... most often after either an especially long session of sex, even with foreplay and good natural lubrication to start, or after we've not had sex for a time... like if we've both been fighting off a cold for a few weeks... and then we have a lot of sex in a short time.

My partner, with proper foreplay and the right mental mindset, has no problem with natural lubrication... but sometimes extended sex just seems to cause problems in the few days after, and occasionally this has needed the remedy of drugs from the doc.

Your lesson is to never tolerate painful sex like you did in this case. Even if he is close and you don't want to stop for fear of frustrating him, I'm sure that a giving lover would rather you not be in pain and that you would remain healthy.
