    Physical pain long after miscarriage
On 7/25/05 I miscarried naturally at 5 weeks. It was excrutiatingly painful physically. It felt as if my insides were being pulled out with razor claws. I was in some level of discomfort for the following month but thought that it would eventually go away. I was checked by my GYN on 8/13 and was given the OK to Trying to conceive again if we were ready. My "uterus felt fine", the docor said. I had a regular period on 8/25/05... no unusual pain. After that I thought I was pregnant again because I experienced a lot of the same symptoms from my first pregnancy. I feared I was miscarrying again because I was cramping (again) throughout the month and it got worse from 9/21 on until I started bleeding on 9/26. The blood test came back with less than 1ml of HCG... so I was not pregnant. Still, the pain was reminiscent of the miscarriage. Now, I'm still in pain and the period has ended. The length of the period was normal, but the pain! I hurt when I laugh. I feel like there's a knife stuck inside of me. The pain is on the right side of my belly button extending downward into my pubic area. What could this be? I can't find any info and the nurse says that my body is still adjusting from the miscarriage. Do I ask them to check me out again? I was "cleared" before.?

    Pain
    Hi,
You need another doctor. The one you are seeing is not doing enough.
You need tests ran, by order of a doctor that knows what they are doing.
Please find another doctor, and don't wait. There are tests that use scopes to view the area, also scans of different types.
    Best of luck,

Thanks fredg. I took your advise and went to my GP. She did another pelvic and ordered some tests. I should get the results next week. Of course, like bringing your car to a mechanic, the reasons for going to the doctor have just about disappeared. I'm not complaining, it's just ironic. The GP also thinks that my body is still healing. She's still checking things out to make feel better I suppose.

When we lose someone, even an embryo, it is still a loss. You needed time to mourn, that was probably your way - through pain. I'ts normal to react to life's trials. After the tests, which I'm pretty sure will be OK, and you want to continue trying for a family, check the following sites out.

These make good reading. Good Luck.

Sorry for your loss and wishing you all the best, Chery
