    Light period w/ brown blood, wonder if I'm pregnant
    Hello,

    My last period was on time, but was very odd. Most of what came out was brown or brownish-red, and flow was very light for 6 days straight. I had mild cramps on one day. I have been on birth control for over a year (nuvaring) and have gotten used to regular periods that last 4-5 days and are heavy enough to need a tampon.

    I know menstrual abnormalities often occur, but since I have been on birth control I have stopped expecting these irregularities.

    If amenorrhea is an early sign of pregnancy, does that truly mean NO period whatsoever? Or is a light period a possible indicator? I have my yearly GYN exam next week, but should I be concerned enough to take a pregnancy test before then?

    Those types of periods can still happen while taking birth control. If your concerned though, bring it up with doc and he/she will give you a blood test while you're there if they suspect you could be pregnant.

    Just wanted to update: I went to my GYN this morning and she confirmed that I am NOT pregnant. Whew!

    The same things happenen to me now and am so scared in case am pregnant ! Did the doctor say what caused it ?
