Just turned 18, haven't had my period for 3 months.
Today I spotted once, and got all excited that it was my period. But it wasn't.
I've never spotted before, or been this late. I tend to skip a month here or there.
I am on the heavy side, and lately might be eating a bit worse than usual.
I just turned 18 and am a virgin.
I haven't been to a Gyn. And I'm sort of avoiding it.
Please, is this type of thing normal?

If you are normaly irregular then I would leave it at that but... It is time to see the gyno. They will figure out why you are irregular and a pap-smear is to test for cancer. NEVER miss your yearly exam. You should get one starting with your first sexual encounter or when you are 18. Food can mess with your monthly as well.

Three months is quite late. Teens seems to be irregular, but by 18 things are generally beginning to straighten out.

Are you positive you aren't pregnant? You can get pregnant by having "close" contact even without penetration.

Your best choice would be to see a Gynecologist to see what's going on.

What's the deal? Exactly what you are "disagreeing" with? You don't vote "disagree" just because I asked a question you didn't like... that's not nice to give someone a bad rap.

A lot of younger girls don't realize that they can get pregnant without having intercourse and I was simply making you aware of it in case you'd been in that position.

Whoa, calm down. I'm completely new this site, and I'd never used the arrows before. It's not that I didn't like what you said, it was valid. I disagreed to make it clear that wasn't it.

I wasn't aware of this "bad rep" you speak of.
Look I'm just looking for help.

Then please go back and read the site rules. And learn to use the site. It's quite disrespectful to not do so first.

No one here is going to help you any better than the doctor you should be seeing. It's a matter of your health. Start your adult life by getting checked properly.

    I wish you luck.

Thanks for the advise, but I'm just like any other person on here looking for opinions and for woman to share there knowledge. Obviously I could go to a doctor but some of us in this nation can not afford it. Especially those of us going off to college.

People come on this website looking for answers, and honestly I didn't agree with her answer so it makes perfect sense. It's not a contest to see who has the best knowledge around. It's pretty pathetic. I don't need to read the rules, I understand perfectly how the website works. So thanks very much.

Oh I call you on giving out reddies, and you give me one. That's not how you get the help you're asking for.

They are for factually incorrect information only.

Are you on birth control of any kind? An if so are you taking it properly? You should go see a doctor
