    Excessive sugar before period normal?
I am about to start my monthly period. I have been craving strawberry cake all week like mad. I never eat or buy sweets. However, I gave into this and bought a strawberry cake complete with creamcheese icing. I have almost ate half the cake! I eat like I haven't eaten in months. It's not like I'm binge eating... I'm seriously hungry and must have this sugary stuff. Is this normal? I'm beating myself up because I exercise regulary and now I feel like I've blown my efforts.:(

It is absolutely normal to be a lot more hungry than usual before your period. Once your period starts, your appetite usually levels off, so it all balances out.

Wanting the sugary stuff is more likely your taste buds talking than your body.

Yup, many women have cravings before and during the period.
