Excessive bleeding after mirena coil or loop Diathermy?? I am 26 years old and have been on dianette as contraception for a long time but as I was suffering from headaches my doctor told me I had to change contraception. I tried two different types of pill and bleed too much on both so as advised I had a Mirena Coil fitted about 3 months ago and there were no problems at first but at the same time I had a cervical smear test which came back a week later as moderate dyskariosis so 3 weeks later I had the loop diathermy excision done. A few days after the treatment I had a VD infection and had to take antibiotics which cleared the infection but then I started bleeding excessively and passing very large and frequent blood clots as well as having very painful stabbing pains in either side of pelvis and my lower back. This went on for 3 weeks so my doctor put me on norethsiterone and iron as it made me anemic and it has cleared up the bleeding but not the painful cramps,shooting pains. I went for an ultrasound scan today to check the coil is in placve and sge said the coil is fine and my ovaries are healthy. What can this all be? I am desperate for an answer as I am in pain and it has been going on for months now. p.s I had all the ti checks and its all clear
