Do I eat right? Why am I tired
I feel tired all of the time, where am I going worng?

Breakfast: Wholegrain cereal with semi skimmed milk

Morning snack: Cereal bar, filter coffee with milk

Lunch: Yogurt, two pieces of fruit or Egg mayonaise roll plus apple or sushie plus fruit or prawn salad

Snack (occasionally) chocolate or piece of cake or sweets, esspresso or filter coffee

Dinner chicken/pork/fish plus veg usually stir frys/ bakes

Possibly a wee piece of chocolate in the evening/ fruit

Alcohol- a bit at the weekends maybe the odd one during the week. About 15 units a week, but it varies a lot- depends on the parties.

Exercise, stairs at work (5 tall flights!), horse riding once a week.
I'd do more but I just don't have the energy.

I get 8+ hours sleep a night. But if left to my own devices (no alarms) I'll sleep for 14 hours!

I feel completely wiped all the time- I keep falling asleep at work and round people's houses it's very embarrassing.

So where am I going wrong?

Sounds like your tiredness is at an extreme level... best to check with your gp first for a complete physical. It may be your body is not absorbing some nutrients as it should. It may be something as simply as needing B12 supplements or injections for example. They may possibly suggest a sleep study to see if your sleep is actually restful or not. Waking up already tired, after 8 hours, is a sign something is off. Are you under a fair amount of stress? Any chronic health conditions that you know of? Are you taking any medications?
Has it been recent or have you always felt this way? Do you notice it more in the winter? Any possibility of depression?

Your diets pretty good... smart to have some healthy snacks between meals... might throw in a multivitamin just for insurance.

Hope you find some relief soon!

I've had a think about it I'm going to get vit D this weekend, I live in too high a latitude to get it from the UV in the sun and it is difficult to get enough from a normal diet.

Yeah I've felt this way since I was little (about 10). I went to the doctors then and a coupe of times since but they never find anything. I've had depression before so I know it is not that now.

I'm on no medications and have no conditions I know of.

I'm going to try the doctors again, I just get fed up because they never take me seriously, they treat me like a hypochondriac. I'm fed up of pretending I'm stupid to flatter their egos (it's the only way to get anything done with them it seems.)

I was just worried I was missing something obvious.

I would see a doctor. I had the same problem, and saw a neurologists, had a sleep study, and found I had Restless Leg Syndrome. I had no idea I woke up during the night, but the sleep study showed I woke up for a few seconds 167 times in one night. I feel for you. I had to use my lunch hour for naps. I would then take a nap as soon as I got home. I heard the word "lazy" so many times, I began to believe it was true. Good luck, and may God be with you.
