    Anemia and Infertility
I have very low iron. I found out about three years ago, and have been taking iron pills everyday. I have been real close to becoming pregnant. (still not sure if I am or not) My boyfriend went online, and it said that having Anemia can cause Infertility. Is this true? And what are the chances of me getting pregnant with such low iron?

Yes, being anemic can be an issue with fertility. How have your levels been with the iron pills for the last three years? If they are not in the range they should be, perhaps other options will need to be looked into.

I haven't had the chance to go back and have blood work done, due to not having any insurance. I'm hoping soon, I will be able to find out.

Yes it's true. I had the same problems, but to beat the Anemia Problems is to keep taking your iron pills. I spoke to my doctor if I can still get pregnant after I have taken all my pills. She did a Fertility Blood Test, the results came back Infertility so she suggested for me too keep taking the iron pills for 3 months and get another blood test. After 3 months taking my Iron pills, I went to the doctor again for another Fertility Blood Test, it came back "Fertile" I was happy! Ever since then I started eating the right food that helps with Fertility though I don't like eating Pork. But love eating Oysters.

1 Year later... this morning, I took a hope pregnancy test, it gave a Positive Pregnancy indeed. I am now 7 weeks and over the moon! Of course I'm 34 and this will be my 1st Child.
