    Am I hurting my health?
Am I hurting my health by eating 2 times a day 6 to 8 hours apart. For instance I don't eat breakfast, my first breaksfast is at 3pm then I have dinner problay at 9 pm and I'm done and I do to bed. I am a little over weight but I'm not doing this to lose weight it just how my body is adjusted to my eating. I get so sick all the time every time I eat in the morining or I get sick when I'm hungry but don't feel like eating. I haven't had my period for 7 months and no I'm not pregnant. Abnormal period... So anyway the question is Am I hurting my health by eating twice a day? I don't excersise that much.. I probably go out for some fresh air like to the park or so and run around the park with my husband or so but basically because I'm so tired all the time, my body is not hungry. Im either at school or at work. So if I was going to eat something when I do get hungry, I have a little homemade turkey sandwich( white bread, mayonoise, turkey meat) and for dinner I would have one bowl of speggeti or just a bowl of cereal. If I was starving I would oder fast food. So tell me what you think. Oh and to be clear I'm not on a diet... hehehe.. :D..

Well, if you were on a diet I hope it would not be this one. ;)

This kind of eating habit can cause problems. Here is the deal in easy terms...

You eat at 3 even though you have been up since 8... you are eating white bread (which is enriched... enriched means all the healthy stuff has been taken out, so you are basically eating starch). Although you do not FEEL hungry your brain, blood and organs are hungry so they are holding on to every calorie that they can until you eat 6 hours later... Spaghetti, more starch. Your brain, blood and organs have held on to every calorie because they are afraid you will not feed them again.

If you cannot eat first thing in the morning, that is okay, but eat a few hours after you get up. It is healthier to eat 6 small meals a day rather than 2 or 3. By small I mean snack on an apple or an orange.

This could be a contributing factor in your irregular periods, as well as what you said about being a little overweight. By the time you hit 40 you could very well be quite overweight.

Just a little food for thought.

I agree (but I've got to spread the rep :( )... Eating so infrequently slows your metabolism down, and, as unscientifically as possible, bring your body into starvation mode, so it thinks it has to cling on to all the energy it has, not knowing when the next is coming...
Something small at least every 4 hours is better...
I never used to like eating breakfast, so I started by going for a brisk walk very early in the morning, then eating a banana chopped in yoghurt... its not too heavy and gets you going.

While I agree that you are hurting your health, I guess I wonder if you freqently go 6-7 months without a period. Sometimes I have skipped a month here and there but never that many months at a time. If you have always had those eating habits no matter how unhealthy I really don't think that suddenly your period would stop. Overall it can affect it but I believe that maybe you would see a gradual change.
