Troubleshooting a wgr614 netgear router install
    Hello
I have been trying to install a wgr614 netgear router with a motorola cable modem. When I installed the setup disk it was all right until I reached the point when trying to detect an internet connection as stated on the screen. Needless to say that no internet connection could be detected. Am I supposed to go into the netgear login page first and fill in the username and password and ssid etc or what. I am not sure how to proceed.

    Thank you for your help

There are only 3 solutions, but it depends on the boxes:
    1) The cable modem does uPnP (evidentlly not)
    2) Cable modem supports bridge mode; Router may have to support
    "Clone MAC address"
    3) Router supports Access Point Mode and cable modem supports multiple
Ethernet connections via DHCP and NAT

Links to manuals of cable modem and router would help immensely.
