Remote does work from more than 5 feet
Since the light wasn't working with the old remote, I got a replacement remote and wireless unit that I installed. Now the light and fan work, but only from about 5 feet or less. The directions say that the antenna has to be "showing." Does that mean that I have to have the wire coming OUT OF the screw hole? (I've never seen that on a ceiling fan before.). I did go inside and drop the antenna down a bit from the unit, within the metal housing of the fan itself, but that only helped a little bit.
