Ceiling fan remote control stopped working
The ceiling fan remote control stopped working.

My little daughter took the ceiling fan remote control and pushed the buttons on off on off on off randomly until it stopped working.

Is there anything I can do to salvage the existing remote control. Or am I going to need a new one?

It is unlikely that your daughter could've caused a problem simply by pressing random buttons. If you haven't already tried a new battery in the remote, I would do this first.

    Good luck,

    Thanks WallyH.

Trying new battery did not work. I am wondering if I should reset (remove power) from the control unit placed on the ceiling. Wait few seconds and then restart.

One more thing, the fan still works, if I turn it on manually. However, the lights don't. Weird!

Removing power from the receiver on the ceiling is a good thing to try. You just never know.

If that doesn't help, make sure the fan is manually turned on and running. Then see if you can turn it off or change speeds with the remote. Also, see if the lights work via the remote.

Without knowing how everything is wired up, it is hard to give you much specific advice.

    Best of luck,
