XP hangs with an hour glass when using right click - some accounts only
Recently Windows XP has been hanging on certain accounts when you use the right hand mouse button.

It also matter WHERE you use the right hand mouse button. In Internet Explorer it works fine but on the start button... no chance hour glass is displayed and user can no longer work.

The only way to resolve is to log out of that account and login again. This only affects some accounts and deleting the account and creating a new one does not help. The new account suffers just the same.

When was the last time you COULD use the right-click? Can you do a System Restore back to a date a week or two prior to when you remember it last working properly?

G'Day : Try this, start>run. Type > sfc /scannow, with os disc in drive, * note space between sfc & / . Any windows that open click "try again". This should repair any corrupt system files, can do no harm as it is an internal windows program.
