    What do I do first?
OK so my hard drive is shot. (long story short, it had an error, while I wasn't home, Husband thought he could fix it for me, when it beeped at him, he thought smacking it on the table would 'fix it'
    *sigh*

Now it not only beeps but it buzzes and clicks because the disk is either broken, or cracked. And I doubt I have any hopes of getting files from it. So I've moved on from that.

OK. So have new hard drive.

But my OS stickers on the computer are confusing me.

    One is vista home premium.

The other says Win Vista HmPrm -win 7 HmPrm UPG Fulfill

Does this mean I must install vista first, and then upgrade to 7?

Or is there a way to go straight to 7 (without buying a new one)

I don't mind going the extra step through vista to 7 first.

Im just hoping its extra time that I can skip :P

What was the last OS you were using on the machine?

Then you should be safe to install win7 as your OS without having to install vista. The code should work for that so long as you use the same version. Win7 home premium.

    Ok.

Im running into another problem now though. It already came on the machine, and I don't have a disk for it :( Do you know where I can download it? I can't afford to pay for it again right now. But I can't find any online downloads anywhere (that are actually real)

I don't know of anywhere you can download it off the net. You do have a few options. Do any of your friends have it? Or you can ask at your local computer shop about getting it reinstalled and how much it will be. Since you have your own number for it then your legit.

Thanks hon. I asked my sister and she is going to get back to me. She already switched to 8 and doesn't remember where she kept her 7 disk lol.

If she can't find it ill eventually pay for a new one. And its not like xp is terrible to use, so ill be OK for a while :P
