    Task Manager
    Hello,

I've been having some problems ending processes in task manager. After choosing to end a process and answering 'yes' to the warning, the process does not end. As such I am also unable to uninstall the program as the process is running in the background. I have run virus scans and spyware programs and everything seems clean. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

An end task isn't always instant.
Once you have decided to do this you may have to wait as the running processes are closed.
Now what program are you having uninstall issues with ?

Have you tried to uninstall it in Safe Mode?

When was the last time you ran some serious system maintenance on your system, including defrag, scanning, patching etc?

Are you unchecking the app in the Startup list for MSCONFIG? That should prevent it from loading. If not, Safe mode is your next best bet.

    Thank you.

I have been having this problem with several programs. I think the one that is causing the most issues is the Live Update in Norton Anti Virus. I have tried defragging and some other common system maintenance procedures. I have uninstalled and reinstalled some of the other programs... through safe mode, but I as soon as I try to start them in normal mode I run into the same problem again. Maybe it's just time to reinstall the operating system. But if I do a back up and reinstall won't I just reintroduce the problem?

    Again, thanks
