Cant Boot Without Windows CD in CDROM Drive
I have installed Windows XP 64bit on my hard drive. When I boot, I can't get it to boot correctly unless I have the Windows Install CD in my CDROM drive. If I don't have the CD in the drive it gives me the error: "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk". I have the BIOS set up so that the CDROM is first in the boot priority and the hard drive is second. It won't boot at all unless they are in this order. The CDROM is USB and there is no Floppy Drive in the system. I have tried running the Windows Repair and running "Fixboot" but that does not help. I have also tried disconnecting the CDROM and resetting the CMOS. Any Suggestions?

Do you indeed have a 64-bit CPU? That's the first question I have to ask.
Are you certain that the HD is healthy and well connected?

Yes, definitely a 64 bit processor running 64bit OS. Hard drive is in good shape as it runs fine after booting. I also tried process on another hard drive and had the same problem.

Is the OS CD a legitimate Microsoft CD or a burned copy?
