How to add Desktop to the Open Window in Windows 7?
I ever saw Desktop in the Open Window but no longer see it. After I clicked the email attachment, the Open Window only displayed Favorite, Libraries (Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos), Homegroup, Computer (Local Disk C, D etc) and Network. Do you know how to add the Desktop to the Open Window in Windows 7 so that can select a file from the Desktop to attach with my email? Thank you for your help.

Can you open favorites as that's where Desktop normally is.
If you look to the right of favorite there's normally an arrow, you may need to select it to make it appear.
Also clicking on faves should bring up further options in the main pane.

The shortcut for desktop is: C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Desktop

I can open the Favorites but only saw RecentPlaces shortcut. There is no arrow on the right side of the Favorite. I do not know why the Desktop disappeared from the Open Window. Is there a way to bring it back to the Open Window?

Right click on Faves and there is a restore defaults option.

I right clicked on the Favorites and saw Expend(Unavaiable), Sort by name, Open in new window, Restore favorite links, Add current location for Favorites. I then clicked on Restore favorite links. Nothing happened. There is still no Desktop in the Open Window.

In that case you'll need to recreate the shortcut.

Now I have just done exactly this so I know it works.

1/ click faves to open in right pane.
2/ expand to your desktop location.
    That's C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Desktop
3/ Simply drag and drop the desktop folder into the right pane of faves.
    4/ job jobbed.

Thanks for your answer. I also found I could not see the Desktop in the Save As. So I clicked on the Save As (Webpage) > Favorites > Right click > Restore favorite links. This time the Desktop was restored. If I clicked on the email attachment and right clicked on the Favorites and then Restore favorite links, nothing will happen.
