    Control panel item not opening
    Hi

I am using Windows XP SP2 OS and I am logged in as an administrator. But still I can't open any program in control panel .

e.g. if I double click on or even right click on any program like Add Remove Programs and click on open then also I got the error of " Windows can't access the specified device , path or file . You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item"

I have tried to delete .cpl files and restarted the PC but same error.

Can anybody help me on this issue.

Try running the System File Checker utility

Go to "Run" from the start menu, and type SFC /SCANNOW
