I cant get any sound from my PC
    Hi,

I have just re-installed XP, and I have downloaded Realtek HD audio driver.
I installed the audio driver with no problems. It shows me all multimedia devices, volumes, mutes etc with no error messages or anything, yet I can't get any sound from my speakers, earphones or ear buds??

My mobo is ECS P965T-A V1.0B which has onboard 8ch HD audio from realtek.

Any help would be great, thanks

We should start with the basics: are you sure the audio plug is in the right jack (usually colored green)?

First thing make sure your sound is not on mute. If you are able to adjust the volume then your sound card has the proper drivers, so the computer is not the problem. The problem lies with the speakers. Make sure it is connected to the right spot, if it is verify the speakers are functional. That's pretty much all I can say, if you are able to adjust the volume in the sound settings the only other reason you wouldn't have sound is faulty speakers.

Just an FYI... since you mentioned you have onboard sound, you may want to consider buying a $20 sound card. I noticed sound quality on a stand alone sound card is much better then an onboard sound card.

Are u using it before? If is you are not is faulty. But if is working before, go to device manager to cheek if is well configured I mean by showing exclamation mark or question mark with yellow try to find real driver of the hard ware and install it.
