    Weight Loss with Diabeties
    Hey there,
Well I'm a diabetic with an eating disorder, I'm not anorexic or bulimic (however I did use to be bulimic) - but I skip some of my medication in order to loose weight. I've been on possibly every diet I could think of, gone to extremes in exercising and none of it seems to work for me because of my injections. I really don't know what to do anymore and it's worrying me because I think if I don't act soon I'm not going to make it to 20.
Any other diabetics on here with suggestions? Or just suggestions in general. All the diabetic team that work with me know about my fear of weight gain, they've sent me to a phycologist to try and solve it, even tried to help me out in their own time, but nothing just seems to get through!
    Thanks for your time xxx

    Hi Nicolle,
There's a link below to a website you might want to have a read of. It seems pretty good and has lots of information as well as personal accounts. Some of it is pretty scary reading, but overall it's encouraging.

"People who take insulin to control diabetes can misuse it to lose weight. If they reduce the required dosage, blood sugar will rise and spill over into the urine. These folks will lose weight, but the biochemical process is particularly dangerous. Reducing insulin causes body tissues to dissolve and be flushed out in urination."

Best of luck, you have a tough journey ahead so stay strong! Hopefully you'll get some feedback from diabetics on this site too.
