    Weight loss
I am a high school cheerleader. I am currently 15 years old. This year in cheerleading the coaches decided to get new TIGHT fitting uniforms and my stomach fat does not look pleasant in it. This makes myself esteem go down very low! I need help to get rid of my stomach fat so I can enjoy the season. I currently weigh 165.5 ponds. I would like to at least be at 130 pounds... PLEASE HELP... I have two months left before we start cheerleading for the football team...

There is NO safe way to lose 35 pounds in 2 months. That would be about 5 pounds a week. That's not going to happen in any healthy way. The best thing to do is monitor your diet and eliminate any obvious source of processed food. For example, pop, chips, fast food fries (The burgers are surprisingly healthy). Make sure that your caloric intake is inline with what your doctor recommends. Which brings up another point that I am going to sandwich here, See your doctor and talk to him about weight loss. Secondly setup an age approiate exercise routine. It will be mostly cardio but that will help you during the football season as well. Make sure that your caloric output is marginally higher than your intake. When things are going right you should expect to see about a pound or two a week loss.

The next piece of advice comes from many of the adult women I know. First off, you like the nice underwear/bras? The lacey and fun stuff? That's awesome. There is a time and place for that. When you're wanting to smooth out/hide some awkward wiggly bits of yours, you'll want to get into the more heavy duty underwear. It is the body shaping stuff. It is in your local department store. This is the stuff that will run from under your bust to down your thighs. It will be a little compressive and will hold things into place. It should fit under your tight uniform and hide your tummy fat a little. This is a better course for the actual cheer leading part of this problem. You might get to the point where you don't need it anymore a few months down the line but it could be your friend right now.

Good luck and remember to stay healthy.

Also - when I cheered some of the girls would wear nylons (don't know if cheerleaders do that these days) with a 'control top', it will do the same thing Craven was talking about... in the cold seasons we would wear legging type things as well, they would do the same thing. Take an opportunity during practice to work hard, cheer from your belly/chest, not your throat (hope you know what I mean by that) practice your jumps and tumbling (if you do that) - all of those things use your stomach muscles. The sport of cheerleading is both aerobic and muscle training, it in itself is a great way to stay in shape. Eat healthy, like Craven said, and work your tooty off at practice. How often are you practicing this summer?
